Having overcome pain and fatigue to complete the West Highland Way in just under 5 days, the Manwalk 2012 team are taking on Ben Nevis today. Why? The only conclusion we can draw here at BRAG is because Gregory can not be in the vicinity of a challenge without taking it on! We do feel for his merry men who would no doubt have welcomed a more sedate recovery day.

Although Manwalk 2012 has been primarily about raising profile rather than funds for Enham, it would be great to increase the justgiving total a bit, if only to recognise what the guys have put themselves through. We do understand that charitable giving is a personal matter, and for those who are unable or don’t wish to donate, please do visit the Enham website and The Mountain Within website to see the amazing work they do, and please also spread the word. We were privileged to work in partnership with Enham on The Mountain Within and have witnessed first hand what an inspirational charity they are.

It was with a heavy heart, not to mention heavy limbs, that the Manwalk 2012 team set off this morning for the last 15 miles but happily they all did, and they all made it to Fort William this afternoon. Many congratulations from everyone at BRAG and no doubt Enham.

A brilliant achievement. And loving the hats!

Happily the whole team have survived day four, and the combined lack of mobility and enthusiasm for Guinness at the end of the day have apparently caused much local hilarity.

Tomorrow sees the team completing 100+ miles and conquering the West Highland Way. Followed by Ben Nevis by way of digestif…

Unsurprisingly it gets harder every day. The team were walking for 10 hours yesterday and today is set to be the hardest day yet. Everyone is exhausted and although the sun has been punishing the promised rain today will probably be even worse.

Manwalk 2012 is raising profile and funds for Enham. Please support them and spread the word.

Manwalk 2012

Manwalk is an exciting new project devised by Gregory Rinaldi, one of the producers of the award-winning documentary feature film The Mountain Within. An endurance experience set against the stunning backdrop of the West Highland Way and captured on film, Manwalk’s missions are to promote and raise money for a brilliant charity, Enham, and showcase the local landscape, culture and people. All whilst having some fun and providing some entertainment for our supporters.

Starting this Friday 25 May, Gregory and his six merry men will be  introduced to the joys and stresses of our natural environment, equipped only with maps and compasses and with only canvas for shelter.  The West Highland Way is one of the most challenging routes in the UK, boasting a varied terrain including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain.

Enham has been making a difference to the lives of disabled people for over 90 years. Enham explores opportunities with people, so they can live the lives they choose, by overcoming limitations and expanding possibilities. Through personal development, training, housing options and employment, Enham supports people to exercise individual choice and control.
